The years are referred to by number and by name. The numbering of the years is based on the Dale Reckoning (DR). The year 0 DR, is the year that the elven court allowed humans to settle in the more open regions of the forests.
The following years are used in the games supported by the Inn:
Icewind Dale |
1281 DR |
Year of the Cold Soul |
Balders Gate 2: Shadows of Amn |
1369 DR |
Year of the Gauntlet |
There is a list of all the years and their names. It is in .RTF format and you can get it here.
It would take a long time to see a day pass while playing a computer game, so some modifications were made. A single round in an AD&D (pen and paper) game is 60 seconds. The computer games compress the rounds to 6 seconds.
A turn is 10 rounds, which is then 60 seconds in the the game. A total day is compressed to 2 hours and 24 minutes.
