Cheats

This page describes the cheats for BGII. Ofcourse there are some among you, who think cheating is bad. If you are one of those than don't read on :-).
If you think the game is to difficult or you want to explore every possibility than you might want to try out some of the cheats listed here.

Enabling the cheats
Follow the following steps in order to be able to use the cheats:

  1. Open the file baldur.ini in the BGII directory in an editor.
  2. In the file go to the header named [Program Options].
  3. Under this header enter a new line with the text: Debug Mode=1.
    This will enable the cheats from within the game.
  4. Inside the game, press the key combination CTRL+SPACE.
    This will open a console window, in which you can enter the cheat commands which are listed below.

Cheat Commands

Add gold to your party: CLUAConsole:AddGold("quantity")
  Adds the entered amount of gold to your party. Enter the number without dots and/or commas.
Example: CLUAConsole:AddGold("10000"), adds 10000 gold to your current total.
 
Level up characters: CLUAConsole:SetCurrentXP("xp")
  Sets the eXperience Points of all selected characters to the entered value.
Example: CLUAConsole:SetCurrentXP("1000000"), Sets the current XP for the selected character to 1,000,000.
 
Create Items: CLUAConsole:CreateItem("itemID")
  Add one or more of the selected items ti the inventory of your main character. If the inventory of this character is full, the item(s) go to the next character. See the item section for the item ID's.
All magically enhanced items will be unidentified after they have been created.
In case of stackable items, you can add the number of items you want.
Examples: CLUAConsole:CreateItem("belt10"), gets you the Belt of Inertial Barrier.
CLUAConsole:CreateItem("arrow11", 40), gets you 40 Arrows +2.
 
Create Monsters: CLUAConsole:CreateCreature("Monster")
  Use this cheat to spawn a specific creature, which you will have to fight then in all probability. The following gives a list of some of the creatures.

Goto area: CLUAConsole:MoveToArea("Area")
  Goto the specified area. Entering an invalid area might crash your system and only the selected characters are moved there.You can go to any valid area, the following lists a subset of the available areas.

Explore Area   CLUAConsole:ExploreArea()
  Marks the entire area your party is currently on as explored. This means that the map of the area becomes completely visible.
 
Key combinations  
  Ctrl+Shift+8 GIve maximum stats to character
  Ctrl+R Heal selected character
  Ctrl+J Jump to cursor position
  Ctrl+T Heal party
  Ctrl+Y Kill person/monster under the cursor

This Locus Inn site is designed to be used in 1024x768 resolution, although lower resolutions will work. It has been tested with Internet Explorer 5+ and Netscape 4.7+.
